TNDV was born out of necessity. In late 2001, the need for a small, rapid-deploy mobile production unit in the midsouth was at a premium. Plenty of large trucks were available when you needed 15+ cameras, and thanks to the touring industry, fly-packs were readily available, but there were next to no small trucks for smaller projects in the (then) emerging world of “live-streaming”.
TNDV was born to answer the call of 3 – 5 camera projects that required switching, ISO recording, multitrack recording, and, unlike almost anyone else in the area, digital acquisition. In the early days, TNDV was ISO recording SD-SDI to tape. We were thankful to have 24 inputs of multitrack in the audio booth. The ability to offer anamorphic standard-def production was cutting edge, and we were ready for it. Fast-forward to today, and you will find our fleet has grown from 1 truck to 33 mobile units. Standard def has given way to UHD workflow. 24 multitracked audio inputs has grown to the capability of 256+ inputs in many trucks.
The past 20 years have seen our staff grow from a single EIC/ driver/salesperson to a staff of 100+ serving our clients from coast to coast. We even use log books for our cross-country trips now! TNDV believes in using the right tool for the right project…and that means we have tiny trucks and massive trucks. We have fly packs and we have uplink units. We love to rock a 2 camera stream or a project that requires 22 cameras or more for network television!
Above everything else, we believe in relationships over gear. We can always find the hardware you need if we don’t own it, but the decades-long connections we have formed with our clients, mentors, and friends is what truly sets our approach to live production apart.
