MU-5 is a 3G HDR single-expando mobile production unit engineered for high-end sports and entertainment broadcasts. It pairs a 4 M/E Grass Valley K-Frame X switcher and Sirius 840 routing under EVS Cerebrum control with a 56-fader Calrec Artemis Beam audio room and Sony HDC-3500 HDR cameras wired for 16 CCUs, and it carries up to four 12-channel EVS XT-VIA servers plus a Spotbox, with wiring for 16 VTR/SSD recorders.
Previously known as Aspen, MU-5 joined the fleet in August 2026 through Live Media Group’s acquisition of Gravity Media’s U.S. mobile-production assets, arriving with a proven record on major U.S. broadcast productions. It now operates alongside more than 40 mobile units across Live Media, TNDV Television, and GameTime Productions, with full access to the group’s engineering, fly-pack, and transmission resources.

Production switcher
Grass Valley K-Frame X 3G production switcher with a Kayenne 4-stripe, 35-button panel: 4 M/Es, 64 inputs, 32 outputs, and Image Store with movie playback. That’s enough switching real estate to run program, a clean feed, and screens looks simultaneously.
Replay & record infrastructure
Up to four EVS XT-VIA 12-channel servers and one EVS Spotbox, with the truck wired for 16 VTR/SSD recorders for isolated records, melts, and deliverables alongside the show.
Routing & terminal
Grass Valley Sirius 840 router at 384×288 under EVS Cerebrum control, with 120×120 embedding/de-embedding, 46 channels of HDR frame sync, 768×1536 MADI routing, and 336×60 multiviewer capacity. Fiber I/O includes 16 frame sync/router fiber inputs, 12 router fiber outputs, and 16×16 patchable utility fiber TX/RX, backed by an assortment of AJA converters. One orchestration layer over sources, syncs, and monitoring keeps show-day changes fast and traceable.

Calrec Artemis Beam digital surround console with 56 faders, 12 dual-fader layers, 564 DSP processing paths, and 340 input channels. I/O includes 48×48 analog, 64×64 mono AES, 640×640 MADI, and 128×128 Dante. The room also has a 64×64 Waves Broadcast Suite, a DaySequerra ILM 8 loudness meter, and Trigger audio playback software.
Communications
256×256 RTS Adam II matrix intercom with 96 analog, 64 OMNEO, and 32 RVON channels (1× RVON+), 64 MADI channels, and eight powered PL plus eight powered IFB channels. Six RTS TIF-4000 telephone interfaces, six Telos HX2 QKT audio couplers, and 18 RTS DBP OMNEO digital beltpacks round out the system.
A/V support
Four deployable field kits: three Hydra 24/8 with Dante, plus one Dante booth kit. Announce positions are covered by four Glensound Minferno/2 Dante boxes, four Studio Tech ST210 analog boxes, and eight Sennheiser HMD26 headsets. The microphone package includes eight MD46 stick mics, six ECM-77 lavs, twelve MKH416 shotguns, six MKH8070 long shotguns, five MKH418 stereo shotguns, and four AT8022 stereo mics.
