MU-5 is a 45-foot-class 3G single-expando mobile production unit engineered for high-end sports and entertainment broadcasts. It pairs a 4 M/E Grass Valley K-Frame X switcher and Sirius 840 routing under EVS Cerebrum control with a 56-fader Calrec Artemis Beam audio room and eight Sony HDC-3500 HDR cameras — and it is wired for 56 channels of EVS replay, a density few trucks in its class can match.

Previously known as Aspen, MU-5 joined the fleet in August 2026 through Live Media Group’s acquisition of Gravity Media’s U.S. mobile-production assets, arriving with a proven record on major U.S. broadcast productions. It now operates alongside more than 40 mobile units across Live Media, TNDV Television, and GameTime Productions, with full access to the group’s engineering, fly-pack, and transmission resources.

The truck expands to a 60′ × 22′ working footprint and runs on standard three-phase 200-amp service, making it a straightforward fit for venue compounds that cannot take a full-size expando — without asking the production to give anything up inside.

Production switcher

Grass Valley K-Frame X 3G production switcher with a Kayenne 4-stripe, 35-button panel — 4 M/Es, 64 inputs, 32 outputs, with FlexiKey, DoubleTake, and chroma key. Enough switching real estate to run program, a clean feed, and screens looks simultaneously.

Replay infrastructure

Four EVS XTVia LSM 12-channel servers with dual-user operation plus an EVS XS3 six-channel spot server with Lance controller. The truck is wired for 56 channels of EVS — multi-angle replay, melts, and playback for the most replay-driven formats, all onboard.

Routing & terminal

Grass Valley Sirius 840 router at 384×288 under EVS Cerebrum control, with 46 3G framesyncs, 336×60 multiviewer capacity, and 768×1536 MADI routing. One orchestration layer over sources, syncs, and monitoring keeps show-day changes fast and traceable.

Cameras & support

Eight Sony HDC-3500 HDR cameras with QFR licensing, wired for 16 CCUs. Support includes four Sony HDLA-3505 large-lens adaptors, four Vinten Vector 750 heads, and four V20 pan heads with tripods.

Audio facilities

Calrec Artemis Beam digital surround console — 56 faders, 12 dual-fader layers, 564 DSP processing paths, and 340 input channels — with 48×48 analog, 64×64 AES, 640×640 MADI, and 120×120 Dante I/O.

Communications

256×256 RTS Adam II matrix intercom, 18 RTS DBP Omneo digital beltpacks, eight Glensound Dante IFB beltpacks, and Beyerdynamic DT-108/DT-109 headsets.
