The portability, flexibility, and light weight of a fly pack system make it ideal for broadcasting smaller, remote, or indoor events. Many clients choose fly packs for corporate functions, sports, concerts, conferences, and religious services.
Fly packs are easy to transport and require minimal crew, making them perfect for events with a limited production footprint.
TNDV offers customizable fly packs to accommodate events of any scale, readily available for quick deployment. All fly packs include at least one broadcast engineer and additional crew members are available upon request.
Customization is Key
Step One: Customize Your System
TNDV customizes each fly pack to the client’s needs based on technical requirements. The first step is determining the correct switching system. System format, overall event size and other factors play into this selection. The customization of TNDV fly pack systems always begins with the nexus of the system, the switcher and video router combo.

Components of a Fly Pack
Camera Rack
The camera rack portion of the fly pack provides shading capability across all cameras. It includes monitoring for the video shader or colorist, and it connects to the switcher rack. This connection enables return video, program audio, camera tally, and intercom for all cameras.

ISO Recording
TNDV utilizes the AJA KiPro recorders for program and iso recording in various fly pack configurations. In live production environments, where events unfold in real-time, there are no second chances. Having reliable, top-tier video recording equipment is essential.
Record Racks
Another part of the fly pack infrastructure are the record racks that offer multi-channel video and audio recording. Each rack includes monitoring for all record paths, covering both video and audio. A built-in UPS battery backup ensures protection in case of power failure.
Audio Multitrack – In a Fly Pack
The audio fly pack uses MADI technology to send digital audio from remote stage racks to the console. It also shares audio feeds to both Pro Tools multitrack and additional backup multitrack recorders.
